Martha´s Inn at heart of archipelago village Nagu
The Old "Martha House" has a long history - with different roles and phases. For many years the house has served as meeting point for the villagers. Besides that, accommodation has always been one of the main services. People travelling to the neighbouring islands could not always reach home due to bad weather conditions. In those cases Martha House offered bed and breakfast for the travellers in need. During the World War II the house served as a hospital.
Just recently we ended a long project: an old log house was transferred to Martha's yard and was turned into an old style sauna. During the season of 2007 we were able to test the somewhat unusual loft sauna with great enthusiasm! The sauna is available for our accommodating guests - welcome!
Side by side with the sauna project the main house was added new improvments: a large terrace and new main entrance give the old house a new look. The new terrace is now ready and waiting for morning coffee drinkers to enjoy the peaceful village atmosphere.
